A working group was formed with representatives of the three co-leader medical organizations, affiliated societies, and other national specialty societies/organizations to develop the questions for the first practising physician survey (2004).
The practising physician survey provided a framework to draft resident (PGY2) and medical student questionnaires. The CFPC Section of Residents, the Canadian Federation of Medical Students (CFMS), and the Canadian Association of Interns and Residents (CAIR) worked closely with the NPS working group to further develop and adapt the student and resident-specific questionnaire content.
The National Physician Survey has received ethical approval from the University of British Columbia Behavioural Ethics Review Board.
